The Copper House

Butcher Bayley Architects (BBA)

The Copper House is an ingeniously configured residential extension project in central Cambridge, designed by Butcher Bayley Architects (BBA).

The angled geometry of the plan makes best use of the narrow site, whilst ensuring that the views from neighbouring properties are uninterrupted. A generous picture window with bench seat was bespoke made, offering an attractive material contrast against the distinctive pre-patinated copper cladding which gives the project it’s vibrant hue.

“Matthew Smith recently undertook a photoshoot of one of our completed projects. He was very professional and took the time to explain to us what he was doing. He spent the whole day at the property to ensure he captured each space in different lighting conditions.

He was extremely quick with subsequent post-production and returned the photographs to us within a week. We were so impressed with Matt that we have already booked him in to photograph another project in the new year.”
